Most people do NOT know the difference between “Rroma” and “Gypsy” and believe the stereotyped hype that we wander, barefoot, through the fields, free as a cloud, living off the land.
That’s utter bullshit and it’s offensive that people think that’s what being Rroma is (though, 99% of people call us gypsies, which by the way is an offensive word).
Not to mention the fact that ‘gypsy’ has been stereotyped to erase the differences between our cultures. Not all people labeled under the ‘gypsy’ term are the same.
We are all different and have different names and practice different rituals, beliefs, languages, dances, eat different foods, wear different clothes, call our children by different names.

They make a CHOICE to do certain things and be a certain way.
